Summary

This effort will provide support for unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones), associated interconnects, and avionics or electronic components in support of the 355th Maintenance Group (MXG) AFREP at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, UT.

Summary
INTER-OP is looking for an Aircraft Drone Technician to provide maintenance, troubleshooting, wiring repair and electronic repair support for the The U.S. Air Force, Aircraft Repair Enhancement Program. This effort will provide support for unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones), associated interconnects, and avionics or electronic components in support of the 355th Maintenance Group (MXG) AFREP at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, UT.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) and associated subsystems.
- Execute electronic and mechanical repair actions including component replacement, wiring repair, soldering, connector installation, and system reassembly.
- Perform basic and intermediate wire repair in support of unmanned systems and avionics maintenance, including wire splicing, crimping, pin replacement, and connector repair, in accordance with approved technical data and workmanship standards.
- Use and maintain hand tools and electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and automated or semi-automated test equipment.
- Prepare and update maintenance documentation, repair records, and electronic tracking entries as required by AFREP processes.
- Perform occasional unmanned system test flights (limited).
Qualifications / Experience
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, OEM, or DoD depot‑level repair training is preferred.
- Component‑level troubleshooting (down to resistors, ICs, microchips).
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience repairing aircraft circuit cards, soldering and micro‑soldering proficiency.
- 3–10+ years of electronics or avionics repair experience.
- Secret Clearance is required.
- The following IPC Certifications or equivalents are required:
- IPC‑7711/7721: Rework, modification, and repair of electronic assemblies
- IPC‑A‑610: Acceptability of electronic assemblies
- IPC‑J‑STD‑001: Soldered electrical/electronic assemblies
